This month marked a truly special and emotional milestone for our Post 16 community as we said goodbye to our incredible Year 13 students.
This cohort holds a unique place in our hearts as “the first ones to walk through the doors here at Post 16.” From those early days to now, it has been a privilege to watch them grow, mature, and shape the identity of our sixth form. As one teacher reflected, “Watching these students grow has been an amazing opportunity.”

Their journey has been filled with dedication, resilience, and countless memorable moments. They have not only achieved academically but have also contributed to a vibrant, supportive community that will be felt long after they have left.
To celebrate their time with us, we hosted a heartfelt leavers’ assembly, complete with a video showcasing some of their most cherished memories. There was laughter, reflection, and more than a few tears as students and staff looked back on the journey they have shared. Each student was presented with a memory book and gifts — small tokens to remember their time here — while both staff and peers took the opportunity to write personal messages of farewell.
The day concluded with a warm get-together for students and their families. It was, as described, “a day of emotions for all,” bringing everyone together to celebrate achievements, friendships, and the bright futures ahead.
While we are sad to see them go, we are also incredibly proud. As they move on to their next destinations, we know they will continue to grow and succeed. In the words shared by their teacher, “We wish them all the best for their future… and can’t wait to see the progress they will make.”
To our Year 13 leavers: thank you for the laughter, the dedication, and the lasting memories you have given us. You will be missed more than words can express.
Goodbye, Year 13 – and every success for the future.
