We had the pleasure of having Abigail Barker, a visiting artist in to do a mosaic workshop with the students. Abigail Barker is a bespoke mosaic artist who runs the business A Creative Space. She has been commissioned by Creative Scene, a charitable organisation that supports positive social change through arts and culture, to work with schools to produce artwork to be displayed inside two disused telephone boxes within the Heckmondwike town centre. The workshops went well, our students engage with the making of some of the elements that are placed within the telephone boxes. The results are effective, the students were happy to see their work displayed in the phone box galleries.
